Join us as Trinity's choirs and instrumentalists proclaim the birth of the Savior by presenting their annual Service of Lessons and Carols. Nine readings, which tell the story of our salvation from Genesis to the Gospel of John, will be interspersed with exquisite choral music and resounding carol arrangements. The service will include music from both the past and present including Mendelssohn's "There Shall a Star Come Out of Jacob" from his unfinished oratorio Christus and Bach's setting of "Beside Thy Manger Here I Stand" from his Christmas Oratorio.
Music by contemporary composers will include Kevin Hildebrand's "Gabriel's Message," which creatively and powerfully combines the Christmas story with the Easter story, and an arrangement of "I Want to Walk As a Child of the Light" by Paul Manz. The choir will also introduce a new, contemporary hymn by Manz entitled "Ever Since the Savior Came," a setting of a text by the late Jaroslav Vajda.
Come meditate, celebrate, sing, and rejoice with us!
